Nothing here is official. The site is not run by Russ, the Russ Eats channel or Russ Energy, and none of them have endorsed it or had a say in it. The ratings and the words are Russ’s; the website, its design and its mistakes are ours.

How it is made

A pipeline watches the channel. Each new video is transcribed and its frames are read, then the items, the ratings and the quotes are pulled out automatically and checked against the video. Every review on the site links to the moment it was said, so you can hear it for yourself.

Automatic means imperfect. A score can be misheard, an item misnamed, a joke taken straight. When a number matters to you, tap through to the video before you trust it. If you spot a mistake, tell us and it will be fixed.

Have your say

Every item page shows the audience rating under Russ’s, and a “Rate it” button for yours. His lines on the Quotes page take reactions. Nothing you add changes a score on a card. No account is needed: rating or reacting signs you in anonymously, which is what keeps your rating yours when you come back.

Sponsored videos

Russ has previously stated that he never scores in sponsored videos, so the food he reviews carries no applied pressure or bias. The site keeps to the same line: a sponsored taste is shown apart, never scored and never ranked, and a store that has sponsored a video wears a small mark on its logo wherever it appears.

Promoted placements

The site carries no advertising today. If a placement is ever sold, it is labelled “Promoted”, carries no score and never enters the rated lists. “Sponsored” on this site always means a video Russ was sponsored for, never something the site was paid to show.
